Wounds
Factors influencing the time it takes for a wound to heal vary from person to person. Things to consider when monitoring wound healing are the depth and extent of the wound, any repetitive injuries, whether or not the wounds are scratched or rubbed and if there is continuous friction or aggravation of the wound.
If a wound has become infected then the body will first need to get the infection under control before starting the repair process, this takes time. People with weak immune systems and the elderly will generally have wounds that heal slower than normal. Vitamin C deficiencies may contribute to poor wound healing. If you are concerned about the amount of time your wound is taking to heal, then please consult your healthcare practitioner. Please consult your healthcare practitioner if the condition has not resolved within 10 days.
