Description

Spasmopep is a phytodietary supplement indicated for individuals suffering from an irritable colon.  Each enteric-coated capsule contains 0.2 ml of peppermint oil that is released in the colon (at pH 6.8 to 7).

Who should you use Spasmopep?

• Individuals suffering from conditions that are associated with abdominal cramps (gastro-intestinal spasm).
• Spasmopep capsules can be used as a dietary supplement to help relieve the painful spasm, bloating and cramp of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

What does the product contain?

Peppermint oil
Detailed research conducted in Europe has shown that peppermint oil promotes the elimination of intestinal gas thus decreasing bloatedness (carminative effect).  Furthermore, peppermint oil inhibits intestinal smooth muscle contractions via a blockage of calcium influx into a smooth muscle cells (antispasmodic effect).  Finally, peppermint oil also promotes the flow of bile (choleretic effects).

Formula

Each soft-gel capsule contains:
Peppermint Oil        0.2 ml

Directions

Adults and children over 16 years
Unless otherwise directed by your healthcare practitioner, take one capsule three times daily between meals. In severe cases, the dosage may be increased to two capsules three times daily.

Spasmopep is not recommended for children under the age of 16.

The concurrent administration of Spasmopep with anti-acids should be avoided as this may damage the enteric coating on the capsule.
